Hunger Strike- a film by Ashraf Mashharawi on Al Jazeera
Watch the full documentary on Palestinian prisoners who go on hunger strikes in Israeli jails to achieve their basic human rights, and sometimes their freedom . Ayman al Sharawna and Hana Shalabi whose stories are featured in the Arabic version of The Prisoners; Diaries reenact their experiences in this powerful documentary.
Thanks to Asmaa Seba the Belgian- Algerian photographer , for sharing this documentary with us , she said "From Ashraf Mashharawi, the english version , thank you for this powerful film dear Ashraf, our work to shed light on the prisoners issue is for me the most important topic because it defines the struggle for freedom and dignity, my exhibition " Une vie Suspendue" about Palestinian females former detainees is still a sensitive question in Europe because the international community don't see those Human beings as political prisoners, they consider them as terrorists, while resistants in Europe in 1944 were fighting Nazism and are depicted like heroes....."
